Water of Life Project Details
Water of Life is a schools and museums partnership project funded by MLA North East

Year 1 pupils and their teacher Mrs Helen Morrow from Ropery Walk Primary School in Seaham visited Sunderland Museum & Winter Gardens to explore the museum collections with learning staff

They looked for objects with a connection to water in the Winter Gardens, Worlds Alive, 20th Century Sunderland and Launched on Wearside galleries. Themes included water and people, water and animals and water and plants

Pupils recorded their ideas about the objects they saw using audio recordings, drawings and written work back in school. These ideas have been developed by Podcast Digital into a Water of Life virtual tour for other schools and pupils to enjoy

If your school would like to make a visit to Sunderland Museum & Winter Gardens and Mowbray Park please contact the Learning Team at sunderland@twmuseums.org.uk or visit the website www.twmuseums.org.uk/schools
